I love Hosmer and wouldn’t hate giving him $20M a year, tho I’d grit my teeth.

If the counteroffer is $22M a year, I’d thank him for his leadership and WS trophy, but wish him luck elsewhere.

It’s “only” $2M more a year, but I guess that I just realized that $20M is my wall.

Agreed. I prefer a tight 2-1 game or even something like 5-4.

Sure, a random 13-12 game maybe twice a year is a great, but once I see that happen once or twice a week, it feels like everything is just….skewed.

Yes, athletes are bigger, faster, stronger, but baseball is still baseball.

We will have to agree to disagree. I’m not going to change your mind and you’re definitely not going to change mine.

I’m satisfied with a championship ring. You’re satisfied with an Oakland-like “competitiveness” using a rotation of nameless, faceless players every year that have not and will not win the big one.

There are your facts. Rock on.

How’s Oakland’s attendance thru all those years of “winning”? I pity that franchise. Terrible stadium. Very small fan base. Constantly under the threat of relocation. You name it. Do you think bringing home an actual World Series championship might have a monumental effect on the direction of the organization?

    Let’s pick a random year.…[Read more]

    The A’s haven’t won anything.

The Astros haven’t won anything….yet (Ok, they did just get that pennant).

The Indians won a pennant. No rings.

We won A.L. pennants in back-to-back seasons with 1 historic World Series Championship.

Winning on a budget takes time. Scouting takes time. Creating a winning culture takes time.

Well stated. It’s extremely easy to build a winning MLB franchise from the ground-up and back into a World Series championship.

Potentially one of the most inaccurate posts I’ve ever read on the interwebz.

I think Hosmer, Moose, Esky, and Vargas come back. Minor and Moylan as well.

Feeling like Cain will walk. Melky won’t be back either.

    These are gut feelings.

So, I notice that the Royals are starting to push the 50th Anniversary theme.

I saw a few things in the team stores for the final weekend series a few weeks ago, but now starting to get emails about it.

Do you think that the golden anniversary of the franchise will have any impact as to what the front office and ownership do to be…[Read more]

    I’m thinking:

    5 yrs./$100 million

He’s JUST turning 28 in a couple of weeks on Oct. 24th, so you get him THRU his age-32 season.

I think at 32, a team has a good idea of how he’s aging and what to expect in what would probably be his last big career contract.

The Royals should pay him. I think he’ll age well with his body type and drive. I…[Read more]

No self-respecting Royals fan should stand to see Hos wear a Cards’ uniform…..especially when he’s in her prime.

That’s kinda my point on the rotation. We’re stuck with who we have. We won’t be able to unload them. Best bet is to try to sign another arm, and don’t be surprised if Vargas is it. He wants to come back and I’m sure the Royals think that his late-season adjustment, plus another year removed from surgery is the ticket.

The arms we have are…[Read more]

Any chance we dump someone in a trade to free up payroll? I think Herrera is our best shot of that, but we’d be selling low.

    Duffy
    Vargas (I think he’ll re-sign relatively cheap)

    Junis
    Hammel
    Kennedy

EDIT: Karns will be back. He slides in there somewhere.

That would be as it stands now, if we can get Vargas.

Cahill needs to get fixed before they pour innings into him.

Again, I really hope they can sign another solid FA starting arm. I meant to include Vargy…[Read more]

I’m not saying that 2018 won’t be a train wreck. Just starting a conversation.

Let’s pretend that we don’t re-sign any of our free agent position players. Who is the weakest link that the Royals are depending on?

    Cuthbert at 3B?
    Bonifacio in RF?
    Moss at 1B, (I’m semi-guessing)?
Mondesi at SS or even CF?

Who is the front office putting all…[Read more]

I have no reason to hide from other Royals fans. Yet. Lol.
